In a heartfelt response to a devastating road accident in Karnataka's Uttara Kannada district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved families. The accident, which claimed several lives, prompted the Prime Minister to announce financial support. He has pledged an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the kin of each individual who lost their life in this tragic incident. Additionally, those who sustained injuries will receive ₹50,000 each to aid in their recovery. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) shared this announcement on X, underscoring the government's commitment to support the victims and their families during this difficult time.

The tragedy struck when a group of vegetable vendors, traveling from Savanur to the Kumta market to sell their produce, met with an accident. This incident has not only brought to light the dangers faced by individuals traveling on the roads but also the immediate need for financial assistance and support for those affected.

In the wake of this tragedy, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also stepped forward to express his condolences and offer support. He described the incidents as heartbreaking and announced that the state government will provide ₹3 lakh in compensation to each family that lost a loved one. This gesture is aimed at alleviating some of the financial burdens faced by the victims' families. Siddaramaiah's statement, released on X, reflects the state's solidarity and commitment to supporting its residents in times of crisis.
