Planetary Parade 2025 In Bengaluru: Residents To See 4 Planets In The Sky, How And Where To See It?
Bengaluru residents will have a rare opportunity to witness a stunning planetary alignment, known as a "planetary parade," from January to February 2025. During this period, four out of the six aligned planets-Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn-will be visible to the naked eye. This celestial spectacle, which is best observed before January 21, will remain visible until February 13.
While planetary parades occur fairly regularly, with some happening at least once a year depending on the planets involved, this particular alignment is unique. A similar event occurred last June, but only two planets were visible to the unaided eye, according to AP.

Astronomers clarify that the planets won't be perfectly aligned in a straight line but will instead be closely grouped on one side of the sun.
Vijay Kapoor from the Bangalore Astronomy Club explained that binoculars will provide a view of Jupiter's moons, while Uranus and Neptune will require a telescope for a clearer look. By March 8, Mercury will join the alignment, adding to the excitement for stargazers.
Best Viewing Locations
Experts suggest heading to spots with minimal light pollution for the best experience. Locations like Nandi Hills, Chikkamagaluru, and Kodagu offer ideal vantage points. Clear skies will be crucial for an optimal view of this celestial phenomenon, as reported by TOI.
For those seeking a guided experience, RiSa Astronomy and The Great Beyond are offering stargazing tours from January 24-26, featuring high-end telescopes and expert-led observations of the planets and moons.
