Pavithra Gowda Visits Vajramuneshwara Temple After Jail Release, Mentions Darshan’s Name During Pooja
Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa's associate Pavithra Gowda also one of the accused in the high-profile Renuka Swamy murder case, was released from Bengaluru Central Prison on Tuesday after securing bail. While the bail was granted on Friday, December 15, her release was delayed due to the court order not reaching the jail authorities on time. Hence, she was released on Tuesday instead of Monday.
Pavithra Gowda's legal team highlighted that the bail order is a 'reportable order,' meaning it sets a precedent for other cases across the country. Advocate Shilpa, a member of Pavithra's legal team, explained that such orders are significant as they consider similar legal principles while delivering judgments in future cases.

Senior advocate Sebastian represented Pavithra Gowda in the Karnataka High Court, while Advocate Shilpa supported the arguments. The legal team contended that Pavithra had no direct involvement in the kidnapping and murder of Renuka Swamy. While it was admitted that Pavithra sent a message to the third accused, Pawan, and allegedly assaulted Renuka Swamy with her slippers, the defense emphasized that she had left the scene prior to the incident escalating.
Pavithra Gowda Fulfills Religious Vow After Release
Upon her release from Parappana Agrahara Central Jail after nearly six months, Pavithra Gowda first visited Vajramuneshwara Temple on Talaghattapura Kanakapura Road to fulfill a religious vow made by her mother. During her daughter's difficult time in incarceration, Pavithra's mother had promised an offering to the deity, and Pavithra honored this vow by performing a sacred bath at the temple.
Speaking to TV9, the priests of the temple shared that it is a place where individuals can fulfill their wishes, particularly those struggling with marriage, health issues, or expecting children.
Pavithra was arrested on July 11, 2023, in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy. Following her initial 14 days of police custody, she remained in judicial custody for the subsequent months.
Who Secured Pavithra Gowda's Bail?
The bail surety for Pavithra Gowda was provided by Manish, a known associate of hers, who submitted property documents from Talaghattapura. The second surety came from a family friend of Pavithra's mother, who also furnished his property documents to support the bail process.
