Pavithra Gowda, Under-Trial Khaidi No. 6024, In Parappana Agrahara: How Was Her First Day In Central Jail?

Pavithra Gowda, the primary accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, began her life as a prisoner at Parappana Agrahara Jail, where she spent her first day in custody. The actress, known for her glamorous lifestyle, has found herself in a vastly different environment, surrounded by concrete walls and steel bars.

Pavithra Gowda and 12 other accused, who were placed in judicial custody on Thursday for their alleged involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy of Chitradurga, were alloted Under Trial Prisoner (UTP) numbers by Bengaluru Central Jail officials at Parappana Agrahara. The UTP numbers were allocated on Friday, with Pavithra receiving UTP 6024.

According to reports, Pavithra Gowda was shifted to D Barrack in the women's section of the jail, where she shares a room with other accused women. The barrack is equipped with separate rooms, each housing two inmates. The actress, who was used to living a high-profile life with all the luxuries, is struggling to adjust to her new surroundings.

Pavithra Gowda's first day was marked by difficulty sleeping at night and a refusal to eat properly. The sudden change in lifestyle has taken a toll on her physical and mental well-being. The actress is finding it hard to come to terms with her new reality, where she is confined to a small room with limited facilities.

The other accused in the case, including 10 others, were housed in B Barrack near the jail hospital. Each room in the barrack accommodates two accused individuals, making it a cramped and uncomfortable environment. All 13 accused will remain in custody until July 4, pending further investigations and court proceedings.

Pavithra Gowda's descent from her glamorous life to prison life is starkly contrasted. From luxury cars and designer clothes to prison cells and simple meals, the actress has been stripped of her privileges. Her high-profile life has been replaced with the harsh realities of prison life.

Meanwhile, other four key accused - Darshan, D Dhanaraj alias Raju, V Vinay, and S Pradosh - being grilled intensively. Their custody is set to expire on Saturday, and it is unlikely that they will be remanded in police custody again.

The accused were questioned separately, with the police seeking to uncover the source of the Rs 37 lakh recovered from Darshan's residence and the Rs 3 lakh found in his wife Vijayalakshmi's flat on Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Banashankari. The police are also trying to trace the two mobile phones that were allegedly thrown into a storm drain, including Renukaswamy's phone, which contains crucial evidence.

According to reports, Darshan had taken financial help from his friend to manage police and lawyers, and pay off those who would surrender after disposing of the body. He allegedly gave money to ensure his name was not linked to the case and sought assistance from politicians and others to help him.

The police are also investigating Darshan's contacts after the murder, as well as the details of those who helped him. Raghavendra, who kidnapped Renukaswamy from Chitradurga, is also suspected of having thrown his phone into the drain.

Separately, the BBMP's Revenue department has sent a notice to Pattanagere Jayanna, whose plot of land in RR Nagar is where S Renukaswamy was allegedly murdered last week. The land came to their attention following the murder case. Revenue officials say they served notice to Jayanna personally and sought documents related to the land from him. The department is seeking to collect taxes on the land from 2009 onwards as per Palike rules.
