Bengaluru, July 17: A paralysed man in Karwar town of Uttara Kannada district in Karnataka died of starvation as he was unable to reach out for help after his wife's death. The man, Anand Kulkar, was found by a relative of his wife, Girija, on Sunday (July 15) in starved and fatigued condition.
Girija, who was looking after Anand, had died 10 days before, said reports. After her death, Anand was left to starve as he was unable to call out for help. Anand was finally discovered 10 days after his wife's death by Girija's brother, Subramanya Madivala who lives in Honnavar town of the district, said reports.
Anand was rushed to a government hospital on Sunday but passed away on Monday. When Madivala visited their place on Sunday, Anand was found starved while the dead body of Girija was discovered in a decomposed condition.

When he reached their home, Madivala found the doors of his sister's house locked from inside. After gaining access, he found Girija lying dead in a chair and in a weakened Anand on the bed.
