Ola Employee Death: Who Is K Aravind and Why FIR Filed Against Ola Electric Founder Bhavish Aggarwal?

In a tragic development, K Aravind, a Homologation Engineer at Ola Electric Mobility, committed suicide on September 28 at his Chikkalasandra apartment. He was rushed to Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, but doctors could not save him. A 28-page handwritten note found in his room alleged mental harassment, workplace pressure, and withholding of salary by his superiors, including Bhavish Aggarwal, founder of Ola Electric, and Subrat Kumar Das, Head of Homologation Engineering.

FIR Filed Against Ola Electric Officials

Following the allegations, Bengaluru Police registered an FIR on October 6 at Subramanyapura police station under Sections 108 (abetment of suicide) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, naming Bhavish Aggarwal and other senior officials.

Suspicious Financial Transactions

Two days after Aravind's death, ₹17.46 lakh was transferred to his bank account via NEFT. His family raised concerns over the transaction, alleging vague explanations from company representatives.

Ola Electric's Statement

In response, Ola Electric expressed deep sorrow, extending condolences to the family. The company stated that during Aravind's three-year tenure, he had not reported any harassment or grievances. His role did not involve direct interaction with top management. Ola confirmed that it had facilitated the full settlement of Aravind's account to support his family.

Legal Proceedings

Ola Electric has approached the Karnataka High Court challenging the FIR. Protective orders have been issued for the company and its officials while investigations continue. Authorities are looking into all aspects of the case to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
