New KSRTC Bus Services: Bengaluru To Ahmedabad And Puri; Check Ticket Fares And Other Details
In a bid to expand its reach and cater to the growing demand for long-distance bus travel, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is set to introduce its longest daily bus services yet, connecting Bengaluru to Ahmedabad and Puri, both over 1,500 km away from the state capital. This will mark a significant increase from the current longest routes of around 1,000 km, which connect Bengaluru to Mumbai and Shirdi.
The KSRTC Managing Director, V. Anbukumar, revealed that the corporation has been working on securing approvals from the Road Transport Corporations (RTCs) of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh, which the routes will pass through. Talks are reportedly in an advanced stage, and Anbukumar expressed hope for a positive outcome soon.

The new services will operate with two buses per route - one for the outbound journey and one for the return trip. The air-conditioned sleeper buses will not have toilet facilities, and fares are expected to be around ₹2,500. The estimated travel time for each journey is approximately 27-28 hours.
While private operators already provide bus services from Bengaluru to distant destinations like Ahmedabad and Jaisalmer, there is currently no direct bus service from Bengaluru to Puri, a renowned pilgrimage destination in Odisha. With KSRTC's new services, passengers will have more options for comfortable and affordable travel to these popular destinations.
