Namma Metro Yellow Line Ready For December Rollout, 2nd Set Of Coaches From Titagarh Arriving In August
The wait is almost over for Bengaluru commuters as the Namma Metro Yellow Line, connecting RV Road to Bommasandra, is expected to open by the end of the year. According to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the major civil and systems works are complete, and the metro line will operate with at least 8 trains and a 15-minute headway.

The BMRCL has been working tirelessly to ensure a smooth launch, and the latest update suggests that the metro line is on track to meet its deadline. The organisation has also confirmed that five more trains are expected to arrive from Kolkata-based Titagarh Rail Systems between August 10-15, which will further enhance the metro's capacity.
What's more exciting is that the Namma Metro Yellow Line will feature driverless trains for the first time in Bengaluru. However, it's worth noting that only one such train has arrived from China so far. The BMRCL's Chief Public Relations Officer, Yashavant Chavan, revealed that all the trains will be put through rigorous testing, including fitness, capacity, and line testing, before inviting the Rail Safety Commissioner for a final inspection.
The Namma Metro Yellow Line was initially scheduled to be inaugurated two years ago, but various reasons, including the Covid-19 pandemic, land acquisition issues, and delays in the arrival of driverless train sets from China, have hindered progress. However, with the recent developments, it seems that the BMRCL is on track to meet its revised deadline.
The Namma Metro Yellow Line is expected to bring significant relief to Bengaluru commuters who have been facing severe traffic congestion and infrastructure issues. The metro line will provide a faster and more convenient way to travel across the city, connecting key areas like RV Road and Bommasandra.
