Namma Metro Phase-3A Project: DPR For Bengaluru Metro Red Line From Hebbal To Sarjapur Submitted

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has already submitted the DPR for the Namma Metro Phase 3A Red Line or Hebbal-Sarjapura Line to the government. The state government has given the green signal, and it will now be sent for approval to the central government.

This new route will pass through the heart of Bengaluru, making it a highly demanded corridor. This route was announced by the BJP government in the 2022-2023 budget. A total of 28 stations will be built, with 4 interchange stations.

4 Interchange Stations

The Red Line will have 4 interchange stations:

  • Hebbal: Connecting the Red, Orange, and Blue Lines
  • KR Circle: Connecting the Red and Purple Lines
  • Dairy Circle: Connecting the Pink and Red Lines
  • Agara: Connecting the Red and Blue Lines

What is the estimated cost?

The estimated cost for this route is ₹28,405 crores. If the state government gives approval, and the central government follows suit, land acquisition could begin next year, with construction starting in the subsequent years. If everything goes as planned, this route could be available for public use by 2030.

Nagasandra-Madavara Extension Starting Next Month

The Green Line of Namma Metro will extend in September, with train services starting from Nagasandra to Madavara. Additionally, the Yellow Line is expected to start by the end of this year. The Pink Line construction is ongoing and is expected to be operational by 2025.

Central Government Approval for Two New Routes

Recently, the central government approved two new metro routes. One route will connect Outer Ring Road, 4th Phase, JP Nagar to Kempapura in Hebbal. Another route will connect Hosahalli to Kadabagere.
