Namma Metro: Huge Rush On Bengaluru Metro, Long Lines Seen Outside Majestic Metro Station

The Bengaluru Metro, also known as Namma Metro, has long been a lifeline for the residents of the bustling metropolis, providing a convenient and efficient mode of public transportation. However, it recently made headlines for a different reason altogether - the enormous rush and extensive lines that were witnessed outside the Majestic Metro Station. The queues extended all the way to the KSRCTC Depot, a sight not commonly seen on this urban rail network.

The surge in commuter numbers was primarily attributed to the end of Dussehra holidays. As the festivities wrapped up, many people from different parts of the city were making their way back to Bengaluru, leading to the sudden influx of passengers. Namma Metro, being one of the most preferred modes of transport in the city, bore the brunt of this massive wave of passengers.

Dussehra, a major Hindu festival celebrated with much enthusiasm and grandeur, often sees families and individuals traveling across the country to be with their loved ones. With the conclusion of the festivities, a substantial number of people head back to their respective cities, contributing to a significant surge in travelers.

Commuters took to social media to complain about the long queues and delays. Some said they had to wait for more than an hour to board a train. Others said the trains were packed to the brim, making it difficult to breathe.

"I waited for more than an hour to board a train at Majestic Metro Station," said one commuter. "The train was so crowded that I could barely breathe. It was a nightmare."

Another commuter said: "The BMRCL needs to do more to manage the rush at Majestic Metro Station. Long queues and delays are becoming a norm. It's really frustrating for commuters."

With the city's population continuing to grow and its infrastructure struggling to keep pace, Namma Metro will likely become even more critical in the years to come.

Efforts are underway to expand the metro network, with new lines and extensions in the planning stages. These developments are expected to further ease the city's transportation woes.
