Namma Metro Green Line Extension To Face Service Interruptions Due To Signal Tests In September
Commuters on Bengaluru's Namma Metro Green Line should brace for significant service disruptions as the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) conducts essential signaling tests on the Northern extension between Nagasandra and Madavara stations. According to The Hindu, service interruptions will impact the section between Peenya Industry and Nagasandra Metro Stations on specific days next month.

Key Dates for Namma Metro Green Line Disruptions
As per a BMRCL press release, full-day service suspensions are scheduled for August 30, September 6, and September 11. On these dates, metro operations will be completely halted. Additionally, there will be changes to the first and last train timings on selected days. These adjustments are necessary to complete critical signaling tests, which are crucial for the safety and efficiency of the extended Green Line.
The signaling tests are part of preparations for the 3.7-kilometer extension of the Green Line from Nagasandra to Madavara, set to begin commercial operations by October. The extension saw its first trial run on August 17, covering 3.14 kilometers-a significant milestone for the project. This extension will add three new stations: Manjunathnagar, Chikkabidarakallu, and Madavara.
During the testing period, the Purple Line services will remain unaffected. BMRCL urges commuters to plan their journeys in advance, considering these disruptions. This advisory follows a recent surge in passengers at Peenya Industry Metro Station due to service suspensions at other Green Line stations, including Nagasandra, Dasarahalli, and Jalahalli, for trial runs of the new extension.
