Murder Accused Darshan Thoogudeepa Does Yoga In Prison Amid Renuka Swamy Case Trials

Kannada actor Darshan, currently held as an under-trial prisoner in the Renuka Swamy murder case, is facing difficulties adjusting to life in Parappa Agrahara Jail, according to reports. This new environment has taken a toll on Darshan, both physically and mentally.

In recent weeks, Darshan has suffered from diarrhoea primarily due to the poor quality of jail food which led actor to lose 10 kg weight. To cope with these challenges, Darshan, who is also dealing with mental stress, has turned to yoga as a means to maintain his physical and mental well-being.

According to media reports, Darshan's mental health has been adversely affected by the isolation and loneliness of prison life. Complaints from his family and friends have exacerbated his depression. In an effort to find some stability, Darshan has started practicing yoga twice a day, which has provided some relief to the jail officials concerned about his health.

Darshan is spending most of his time alone, distancing himself from other prisoners. He has reportedly borrowed books from the prison library to help pass the time. The looming uncertainty of the Renuka Swamy murder case and the potential punishment he might face are constant sources of worry for him.

Darshan's current term of judicial custody is set to end on July 18. However, it is likely that the detention period will be extended as the case progresses.

Darshan Thoogudeepa was arrested along with his Pavithra Gowda and 11 others on June 11 over the murder of Renuka Swamy, a resident of Chitradurga. The four other accused people were arrested later.
