Minister Byrathi Suresh's Close Aide In CCB Custody For Printing Fake Voter ID Card Racket

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police on Saturday have served a notice to Mounesh Kumar, a close aide of Minister for Urban Development and Town Planning, Byrathi Suresh, in connection with allegations of printing fake voter identification (ID) cards, according to reports. This development is particularly noteworthy due to its timing, occurring just four months ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Mounesh Kumar, a close aide to Byrathi Suresh allegedly printed fraudulent Aadhar cards, voter IDs, driving licenses, PAN cards, and other documents for the purpose of deceiving individuals and government officials as reported by Tv9 Kannada reported.

According to News18 Kannada reports, CCB police officers detained three people- Mounesh, along with Bhagath and Raghavendra. These individuals are suspected of engaging in the printing of counterfeit IDs in exchange for monetary compensation in Hebbal.

Speaking to reporters, Byrathi Suresh said, "Many people come and take photos with me all day. That doesn't imply my involvement in that, right?"

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah remained tight-lipped and declined to comment on the recent arrest of a close aide to Minister Byrathi Suresh, as reported by Public TV.

The CCB police conducted search operations at the premises of MSL Techno Solution Company located in Kanakanagar, near RT Nagar after receiving a tip off, where the suspects were engaged in the printing fake IDs. Police officers seized computers and related equipment which was used in the production of fraudulent identification cards from the facility. A case has been formally registered at the Hebbal Police Station, and an ongoing investigation is currently in progress.
