Men on Scooty Harass Woman Rider on Busy Bengaluru Stretch, Video Goes Viral

A troubling case of street harassment has surfaced in Bengaluru after a video showed three men on a scooty targeting and intimidating a woman rider late at night on a busy city road.

The incident, which unfolded on the Silk Board stretch on Tuesday, has sparked outrage online and drawn swift attention from the police.

The clip, filmed by a motorist driving behind the two-wheelers, captures the men riding recklessly and deliberately obstructing the woman's path before speeding away. The video has since gone viral on social media, raising fresh concerns over women's safety on city roads after dark.

Followed and Harassed on a Busy Road

According to information shared online, the woman was followed for nearly two to two-and-a-half kilometres along the Silk Board route. The three men, none of whom were wearing helmets, allegedly pursued her intentionally, repeatedly overtook her scooty, and rode dangerously close in an apparent attempt to intimidate her. After creating panic on the road for several minutes, they fled the scene.

Video Shared as Evidence on X

The footage was posted on X by user @abhyn0w, who said he intervened after witnessing the harassment. In his post, he wrote, "Saw a girl being harassed by a group of guys for several kms on a main road, & this was before 10 (pm). I took a video as evidence, and intervened, and they immediately fled."

He also tagged the Bengaluru Police, urging authorities to take action.

Police Respond, Scooty Traced

Following the widespread circulation of the video, the police acknowledged the incident on social media. In a separate post, they confirmed that the scooty involved in the harassment had been identified along with its owner. The police assured that legal action would be taken against the three men seen in the video.

The incident has renewed calls for stricter enforcement of traffic rules and stronger measures to deter harassment on public roads in Bengaluru, especially during late evening hours.
