Man Kills Bengaluru Airport Employee Over Suspected Love Affair With Wife; Arrested

A trolley operator named Ramakrishna was killed near Terminal 1's parking area at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport on Wednesday. The attack occurred around 7 pm when a man named Ramesh assaulted him with a machete. The Devanahalli quickly detained Ramesh after the incident.

According to initial investigations, the murder appears to be driven by personal motives. Police sources indicated that Ramesh Ramakrishna of having an affair with his wife. This suspicion led to the tragic event.

Personal Vendetta Behind the Attack

Ramesh had been looking for a chance to confront Ramakrishna in their village but found out about his job at the airport. Consumed by anger, he went to the airport and attacked Ramakrishna, slashing his neck fatally with a machete.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, North East Division, Bengaluru City, provided more details about the incident. He stated that Ramesh carried the machete in a college bag and travelled to the airport using a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus. Because he was on a bus, his bag wasn't scanned.

Security Lapse Exploited

The attack took place near a washroom in the arrival parking area of Terminal 1 (Lane 1). The DCP mentioned that since Ramesh used public transport, security measures like bag scanning were bypassed.
