Live Chamarajanagar Election Results 2024: It's S Balaraj Vs Sunil Bose
Chamarajanagar is a prominent Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka, encompassing the state's third-largest district in terms of population. Named after the king of Mysore, Chamaraja Wadiyar, who was born here, the district was formerly known as Sri Arikottar. Represented by BJP's V Srinivas Prasad, Chamarajanagar is situated in the southern part of Karnataka.
The Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha seat, reserved for Scheduled Castes, is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka, established in 1962. While the seat was initially part of Mysore state, it has been a part of Karnataka since 1977. Over the years, there have been 17 elections for this seat, with Congress emerging victorious 12 times. Janata Dal has won twice, and JDS and JD(U) candidates have each won once. Despite its efforts, BJP has yet to secure victory in this constituency.

The prominent candidates contesting the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Chamarajanagar include S Balaraj from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sunil Bose from the Indian National Congress (INC).
In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, BJP's V Srinivas Prasad secured victory with 568,537 votes, defeating Congress candidate R Dhruvanarayan, who received 566,720 votes. BSP candidate Dr Shivakumar received 87,631 votes.
In the 2014 polls, Congress candidate R Dhruvanarayan won for the second time, defeating BJPs AR Krishnamurthy by approximately 1.41 lakh votes. The Congress received 567,782 votes, while the BJP candidate garnered 426,600 votes.
