List Of Flights Cancelled At Bengaluru Airport: Can Passengers Claim Compensation?

The Microsoft 365 outage impacted the movement of several flights at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.

A spokesperson for the airport reported that Indigo, Air India Express, Akasa Air, and SpiceJet were affected. Airline staff resorted to manually checking in passengers, leading to the cancellation of 26 Indigo flights.

"A couple of flights have been delayed. We expect a few more delays due to the outage," said the spokesperson.

The BIAL spokesperson added, "A global outage with the Navitaire Departure Control System (DCS) has been affecting operations of some airlines across their network, including KIA, since 10:40 IST on July 19, 2024. Indigo, Akasa, and SpiceJet in T1 and Air India Express in T2 are among the impacted airlines. The Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE) and Common Use Self Service (CUSS) systems are also experiencing disruptions."

In response, Indigo, Air India Express, SpiceJet, and Akasa Air initiated manual check-ins to minimize disruption to passengers and flight schedules.

Can passengers claim a refund for the disruption?

Unfortunately, the answer is no.

Due to the extraordinary circumstances, no compensation is due to passengers. However, there may be some relief for affected passengers.
