Liquor Ban In Bengaluru For 3 Days From Valentine's Day, Here's Why
Bengaluru City District Collector Dayananda K.A. on Sunday announced a ban on the sale of Liquor for three days from Valentine's Day. According to the reports, the district administration has decided to impose a Liquor ban in Bengaluru from February 14 to 17, 2024 due to Karnataka Legislative Council Bengaluru Teachers Constituency By-election 2024.
To conduct free and fair elections and maintain peace in Bengaluru, the district administration has decided to impose a three-day ban on the sale of liquor.

The reports said teachers from 7 assembly constituencies of Bangalore city district namely Yelahanka, Batarayanpur, Yeshavantpur, Dasarahalli, Mahadevpur, Bangalore South, and Anekal will exercise their votes to elect a new body.
The Model Code of Conduct for teachers' election has already been enforced and will continue till February 23 in Bengaluru.
Bengaluru City District Collector Dayananda K A told the media that a ban on the sale of alcohol will be in force in Bangalore for three days from February 14 due to Karnataka Legislative Council Bengaluru Teachers Constituency By-election-2024. He informed that the ban on the sale of liquor throughout Bangalore City will start from 5 pm on February 14 to 6 am on February 17, 2024.
The decision has been taken in accordance to Rule 10 (b) of the Karnataka Excise Rules, 1967, and by exercising the powers conferred by Section 135(c) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. Therefore, all types of liquor transactions have been banned throughout the district and dry days have been declared.
