Lights, Camera, Action! BMRCL Grants Permission For Film Shooting In Namma Metro
Following Chennai and Delhi's footsteps, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has now allowed cinema and serial filming in Namma metro. While Tollywood and Bollywood have showcased metro for quite some time, it's now set to make its appearance in Kannada movies and serials too.
The Kannada film industry has long sought permission for shooting movies and serials within the metro, yet opportunities were not granted. However, BMRCL has now sanctioned movie shooting under specific guidelines.

What are these rules?
Priority on Passenger Comfort: Filming activities must not disturb commuters. Shooting is permitted during off-peak hours with careful attention to prevent any damage to the metro train or station. Additionally, filming should align with the script's requirements.
Security Measures: Ensuring security for both film crews and passengers during shooting sessions is mandatory. Additional police and home guards are assigned to provide necessary security.
Furthermore, BMRCL has established a fee structure of Rs 6 lakh per day for shooting in metro stations and trains.
Offering a 25% discount, specifically for Kannada movies, a stipulation mandates that Kannada films must complete filming procedures within one month, while non-Kannada language movies have a fifty-day window. Film and serial crews interested in shooting in the metro can now apply to BMRCL, provided they adhere to these guidelines.
