The Lalbagh Botanical Garden in Bengaluru is all set to host the 218th Independence Day Flower Show from August 7 to August 17, 2025. This iconic annual event attracts thousands of visitors from across Karnataka, neighbouring states, and even abroad, offering a stunning display of floral artistry and heritage.

Timings: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily

The event will span 11 days, culminating in the Independence Day celebration on August 15.

Theme and Floral Tributes

This year's flower show will pay homage to Karnataka's legendary freedom fighters - Kittur Rani Chennamma and Sangolli Rayanna. Their stories of resistance against British colonial rule in the 1820s will be depicted through vibrant floral installations.

More than 6 lakh flowering plants are being cultivated for the event, and exotic flowers are being sourced from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Nandi Hills, and Ooty.

Expected Visitors

Over 11 lakh (1.1 million) visitors are expected to attend the 2025 edition, making it one of the biggest flower shows in the country. In comparison, the Republic Day Flower Show earlier this year saw 4.75 lakh visitors.

Special Notes for Visitors

Entry will be through four designated gates: Double Road, Siddapura, West Gate, and Main Gate.

Food stalls, security checks, and public amenities will be arranged across the garden.

Parking may be limited; public transport is recommended.

Photography Restrictions Under Consideration

The Horticulture Department is considering a ban on pre-wedding photo shoots, baby showers, and commercial filming inside Lalbagh, similar to the one enforced in Cubbon Park. This move aims to protect biodiversity and reduce disruptions during public hours.
