Lalbagh Flower Show 2024 August: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has introduced a return journey paper ticket facility to accommodate the public visiting the Lalbagh Flower Show on 78th Independence Day. This initiative aims to streamline the travel experience for attendees during the event.
Paper tickets will be available on August 15, 17, and 18 for the convenience of passengers. These tickets can be purchased from 8 AM to 6 PM at all metro stations across the city and at Lalbagh metro station until 8 PM. The fare for traveling from Lalbagh Metro station to any other metro station between 10 AM and 8 PM is set at ₹30.

Record Attendance at Lalbagh Flower Show 2024 August
The Lalbagh Flower Show, organised on the occasion of Independence Day 2024, witnessed a massive turnout, with 68,148 visitors on a single day, marking a record for the event.
To enhance the experience of the flower show, the Horticulture department has organised a variety of competitions, including ikebana, vegetable and fruit carving, Pushpa Bharati, and bonsai displays. A total of ₹2.5 crore was invested in decorating the venue. Most of the flowers featured in the show were grown locally in Lalbagh, with additional varieties sourced from Pune.
On the fourth day, which fell on a Sunday, 60,726 adults and 7,422 children visited Lalbagh, generating a total revenue of ₹42.32 lakh in entry fees. The holiday saw families flocking to the show, taking advantage of the day off from schools, colleges, and offices.
This year's theme is the life and times of Bharat Ratna doctor Babasaheb Ambedkar, attracting large crowds to the glasshouse, rock formations, lake, shops, and other attractions within Lalbagh. Many visitors were seen queuing for tickets and taking selfies near the picturesque rocks and vibrant flower displays. The glasshouse, in particular, was a popular spot for mobile photography enthusiasts.
Due to the surge in visitors, traffic police were deployed to manage the heavy traffic flow around Lalbagh, ensuring a smooth experience for everyone.
