Ladies PG: 30-Year-Old Bengaluru Bike-Taxi Driver With Theft History Arrested for Sexually Harassing Woman

A 30-year-old bike-taxi driver, K. Naresh Patyam, has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a young woman at a ladies' PG in Suddguntepalya, Bengaluru. The arrest comes after police used CCTV footage and local intelligence to track down the suspect.

Naresh, originally from Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh, has a criminal history, including prior mobile thefts. On August 29, around 3 a.m., he allegedly entered Durga Ladies PG intending to steal. During the act, he touched the woman inappropriately and threatened her with a knife. He stole Rs 2,500 before fleeing. The victim initially mistook him for her roommate, and her screams alerted neighbours who rushed to assist.

Following the complaint, the Suddguntepalya Police launched a prompt investigation. Using CCTV footage and local leads, officers tracked Naresh to Electronic City, where he was apprehended.

Background of the Accused

Naresh's criminal activities were not limited to Bengaluru. His previous thefts in Andhra Pradesh, coupled with his job as a bike-taxi and delivery worker, allowed him to blend into different environments without raising suspicion.
