KPCC holds charge taking ceremony of Dinesh Gundurao, Khandre

Bengaluru, July 11: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has organised Charge taking ceremony of Dinesh Gundurao as KPCC President and of Eshwar Khandre as Working President on Wednesday in Bengaluru.

Talking to ANI after taking charge as KPCC President, Dinesh Gundu Rao, said, "We are the bridge between seniors and youngsters. Our aim is to see that we do well in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, reorganise and rejuvenate the Party and expose BJP and their false promises."

Both the leaders met the party President Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Tuesday before formally taking the charge.

Gandhinagar constituency MLA, Dinesh Gundu Rao, said he had an excellent first meeting with Rahul Gandhi ji after being appointed as President, KPCC. Rahul Gandhi gave inputs on the future course of action, how to strengthen and build up the party in Karnataka.

Dinesh Gundu Rao was working president of the KPCC during the assembly elections. He is the son of former chief Minister Gundu Rao.

Eshwar Khandre, MLA from Bhalki, said he had the privilege of interacting with Rahul Gandhi ji. Promised to work to the best of our abilities and assured of taking Karnataka Congress to greater heights under his dynamic leadership.

Khandre, a Veershaiva Linagayat, belongs to anti-Lingayat religion camp. He opposed the move to give separate religion status to the Lingayat community. Eshwar Khandre is the son of Bheemanna Khandre, former president of the Akhila Bharata Veerashaiva Mahasabha.
