Karnataka Weather Alert: Is Rain in the Forecast for Bengaluru This Week? IMD Issues Storm Alert
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded the alarm for residents of Karnataka, issuing a five-day weather warning that spans the entire state. From April 25 to April 28, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusts are set to impact all three regions: Coastal, North Interior, and South Interior Karnataka. A lull in severe weather is anticipated on April 29, providing a brief respite.

What to Expect Day by Day:
April 25-28 (Days 1 to 4): Residents should prepare for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and winds gusting up to 50 kmph. All three sub-divisions are likely to feel the effects of this atmospheric disturbance.
April 29 (Day 5): Forecasts indicate a return to calmer conditions in the state, with no significant weather alerts expected.
District-Specific Warnings:
Chikkamagaluru, Gadag, Ballari, Kodagu, and Belagavi districts are expected to witness moderate to heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds in the coming hours.
A hailstorm warning has also been issued for Belagavi, with wind speeds touching 40-50 kmph.
On April 28, parts of South Interior Karnataka may experience particularly strong surface winds, increasing the risk of uprooted trees and minor infrastructure damage.
Bengaluru Weather Forecast:
The city continued its warm streak on Wednesday, recording a daytime high of 35.4°C, identical to Tuesday's maximum. This marks the second consecutive day with the same peak temperature. Over the last three days, Bengaluru has seen daytime highs of 34.4°C, 35.4°C, and 35.4°C, signaling a persistent warm phase. This trend is expected to last another 5-6 days, according to forecasts.
From April 25 to April 29, skies will largely remain partly cloudy. However, light rain or thundershowers are on the cards from April 27 onwards, accompanied by gusty winds-50-60 kmph on April 27 and 40-50 kmph on April 28 and 29. Residents are advised to stay alert, especially during the late afternoon and evening hours.
