Karnataka Weather Alert: IMD Warns Of Heavy Rains In 14 Districts, Including Bengaluru
Rain alert: The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of rain across 14 districts in Karnataka, including Bengaluru. According to the alert, districts like Dakshina Kannada, Uttar Kannada, Udupi, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, and Tumkur are expected to experience varying levels of rainfall in the coming days.

Bengaluru, currently experiencing cloudy weather, is likely to see rain within the next 48 hours. The maximum temperature recorded at HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) is 27.5°C, with a minimum temperature of 18.0°C. In the heart of the city, the maximum temperature is 28.7°C, with a minimum of 18.6°C. At Kempegowda International Airport, temperatures are slightly cooler, with a high of 27.8°C and a low of 18.8°C. Jakkur, another area in the city, recorded a higher maximum temperature of 31.0°C, with a minimum of 21.0°C.
While Bengaluru braces for showers, light rainfall has already been observed in select areas of the coastal and southern interior regions. The remaining parts of the state have remained dry for the most part.
Coastal Areas: Cyclone Activity and Rising Temperatures
The cyclone activity in the central part of the Bay of Bengal continues to have an impact on weather patterns. In coastal areas such as Honnavar, the maximum temperature reached 33.4°C, with a minimum temperature of 22.5°C. Karwar, another coastal city, recorded a high of 35.4°C and a low of 23.8°C. In Shirali, the temperature ranged from a high of 32.6°C to a low of 19.6°C.
Other Districts in the State
Temperatures across the state have varied significantly, with Bagalkot recording a maximum of 31.7°C and a minimum of 17.7°C. In Dharwad, temperatures reached a high of 30.6°C, with a low of 15.6°C, while in Gadag, the maximum was 30.5°C, with a minimum of 16.6°C. Kalaburagi also reported relatively warm temperatures, with a high of 32.6°C and a low of 20.3°C. Haveri, another region in the state, had a maximum temperature of 30.4°C and a minimum of 19.2°C.
The next 48 hours are expected to bring increased rainfall, particularly to the aforementioned districts. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions, especially those in low-lying or flood-prone areas.
