Karnataka Weather Alert: IMD Predicts Light Rains For Bengaluru, Yellow Alert Issued Again On December 17
Bengaluru residents can expect predominantly cloudy skies with light rain on Friday, December 13, as the deep depression in the southwest Bay of Bengal has weakened and changed course, according to the Meteorological Department. Meanwhile, Southern Tamil Nadu is expected to receive the highest amount of rainfall today, as reported by local media quoting the weather department.
Light to moderate rainfall is likely in a few parts of the coastal region and isolated locations in Kodagu, Tumakuru, Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru, Hassan, Mandya, and Chamarajanagar districts. Additionally, light rain may occur in some areas of South Interior Karnataka, while dry weather is expected to prevail in North Interior Karnataka.

Statewide Weather Outlook
- December 14: Dry weather is expected across Karnataka, although a light mist or dew may occur in a few places in North Interior Karnataka.
- December 15 and 16: Similar conditions are anticipated, with dry weather statewide and occasional light mist or dew in parts of North Interior Karnataka.
Yellow Alert Issued for Bengaluru on December 17
A yellow alert has been issued for Bengaluru and its surrounding regions on December 17. Heavy rainfall is forecasted in parts of Chikkaballapur, Ramanagara, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Kolar, and Tumakuru districts. Light to moderate rain is also expected in parts of the coastal region and several areas across South Interior Karnataka.
In North Interior Karnataka, isolated rainfall may occur in Koppal, Gadag, Dharwad, Haveri, and Raichur districts. However, dry weather will likely persist in the remaining areas.
December 18 Forecast
On December 18, light to moderate rainfall is anticipated in several parts of the coastal region and select areas of Interior Karnataka, providing relief from dry weather conditions.
