Meanwhile, Maximum temperatures across the South Peninsula are set to increase once again starting today. Regions including Rayalaseema, Telangana, Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu may experience a gradual rise in daytime temperatures. Additionally, parts of South Tamil Nadu, the Western Ghats of Kerala, Malenadu, and Interior Karnataka may witness isolated thunderstorms.
Bengaluru's Rainfall Deficit Worsens Water Crisis
Bengaluru also ranks among the poorest performers in terms of rainfall. The city and South Interior Karnataka are experiencing deficits ranging from -9% to -100%, with no district reporting normal rainfall.
This further exacerbates the water crisis in the region, as Bengaluru heavily relies on groundwater and surface water sources, both of which are under immense pressure due to rapid urbanization and inadequate water management practices.
