Karnataka Weather Alert: Cloudy Day In Bengaluru, Orange Alert For These Districts, Check Forecast

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a cloudy day for Bengaluru on Wednesday, with a high likelihood of light rain. Surface winds are expected to be strong at times, adding to the overall coolness of the day. The maximum temperature is projected to be around 30°C, while the minimum temperature will likely drop to 21°C.

The Southwest Monsoon is currently normal over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka but remains weak over North Interior Karnataka. Rainfall has been recorded at most places along the Coastal Karnataka and at a few locations within Interior Karnataka.

The monsoon has further advanced into additional parts of the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat State, Madhya Pradesh, and some areas of southeast Rajasthan, indicating the broadening reach of the seasonal rains.

Given the expected inclement weather, the weather agency has also issued a orange alert for coastal Karnataka, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada on June 26, 27 warning of heavy rains, thunderstorms, and lightning while yellow alert on June 29, 30.

Rainfall Warnings:

Very Heavy Rainfall: Isolated heavy to very heavy rain is very likely over Coastal Karnataka from June 25th to June 27th, 2024, and over South Interior Karnataka on June 27th, 2024.

Heavy Rainfall: Heavy rain is expected at isolated locations over Coastal Karnataka from June 28th to June 29th, 2024, over North Interior Karnataka on June 27th, 2024, and over South Interior Karnataka from June 25th to June 26th, 2024.

Gusty winds with speeds reaching 45-55 KMPH are likely at isolated places over Interior Karnataka from June 25th to June 29th, 2024.

Squally weather with wind speeds ranging from 35 kmph to 45 kmph, gusting up to 55 kmph, is expected along the Karnataka Coasts from June 25th, 2024, to June 29th, 2024. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these sea areas during this period to ensure safety.
