Karnataka Weather Alert: Cloudy Bengaluru Likely To See Drizzles This Weekend
Karnataka has recently experienced scattered showers, leading to a notable shift in weather conditions. As of today, the state is witnessing clearer skies and colder winds, indicating a transition towards drier weather. This change is particularly evident in cities across Karnataka, where clear skies have become the norm. For instance, Bengaluru is enjoying clear skies, reflecting an overall improvement in weather conditions.
The Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted dry conditions to prevail across various districts in Karnataka, including Bangalore Urban and Rural, Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan and other districts. This prediction follows the recent rainfall, which brought temporary showers to the region. The department also expects a drop in temperature, projecting cold weather to blanket the state. Specifically, Chamarajanagar reported the lowest temperature at 15.0 degrees Celsius, illustrating the current cold spell enveloping the area.

Temperature fluctuations have been observed across the region, with varied maximum and minimum temperatures recorded. In Bangalore, different areas have reported distinct temperatures; for example, HAL noted a maximum of 25.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 16.0 degrees Celsius, while KIAL recorded temperatures reaching a maximum of 25.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 16.2 degrees Celsius. These variations highlight the diverse climatic conditions across the city.
Significant temperature differences have also been noted in other parts of Karnataka. Coastal towns like Honnavar and Karwar experienced high maximum temperatures of over 34 degrees Celsius, contrasting sharply with the cooler, inland temperatures. Panambur recorded the highest maximum temperature at 35.3 degrees Celsius, indicating the varied weather patterns across the state.
Bengaluru Weather Forecast
In the coming days, a decrease in minimum temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius is expected across most districts of Karnataka, extending until January 22. This cooling trend signifies the onset of colder, drier weather. Such a shift is important for residents, as it impacts daily life and activities.
Meanwhile, a weather update from Namma Karnataka Weather on the X portal reported another cloudy morning in Bengaluru and other areas of SIK likely to experience cloudy weather on Sunday (Jan 19) and Monday (Jan 20). Not expecting any significant rains. May be some drizzles.
Furthermore, some districts, including Bidar, Vijayapura, and Bagalkot, have recorded maximum temperatures ranging from 27.6 to 30.8 degrees Celsius, with minimum temperatures also showing variability. These figures are part of a broader pattern of cooling temperatures across the state, indicating a significant change in weather conditions.
Karnataka is transitioning from wet conditions to clearer, colder days. The Meteorological Department's forecast of dry weather across the state is a welcome change for many. With temperatures expected to decrease slightly, residents can look forward to a period of cold weather.
