Karnataka Weather Alert: Bengaluru Sizzles Despite Glimmer Of Rain On The Horizon
Bengaluru, once renowned for its pleasant weather, characterized by sunny skies and a gentle breeze whispering through the streets, is now experiencing unprecedented levels of heatwave. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that on April 2, the city experienced a scorching temperature of 37.6 degrees Celsius. This marks the highest temperature recorded in the last eight years and the third-highest in the past 15 years.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has forecast today that, isolated very light to light rains and thunder showers are likely over Coastal, Malnad, and Interior districts of the state.

In South Interior Karnataka, isolated very light to light rains and thunder showers are expected over Ramanagara, Chamarajanagara, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, and Tumakuru districts. The remaining parts of the region are likely to experience mainly dry weather.
In North Interior Karnataka, isolated very light to light rains are likely over Belagavi, Bellary, Raichur, and Dharwad districts. Partly cloudy weather with isolated very light rains is expected in Gadag, Haveri, Koppala, Bidar, and Bagalkote districts.
The Malnad region is expected to experience isolated very light to light rains in Kodagu, Shivamogga, Hassan, and Chikkamagaluru districts.
Along the coastal areas, isolated very light to light rain is expected in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Partly cloudy weather with isolated very light rain is expected in Uttara Kannada district.

However, there may be a ray of hope for Bengalureans. The Met department predicted that rains will arrive in Bengaluru on April 10 and 11. While it's uncertain if these showers will provide respite from the increasing temperatures, they should bring a glimmer of hope amidst the scorching sun and relentless heat.

A heat wave alert has been issued for Belagavi, Bidar, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Gadag, Kalaburagi, Haveri, Dharwad, Koppal, Raichur, Yadgir, Ballari, and Chitradurga, Davanagere, and Vijayanagara districts.
