Karnataka Right-Wing Activist Srikanth Poojari Released From Jail
Srikanth Poojari, a 51-year-old Hindu activist hailing from Channapet in Hubballi district, Karnataka, has been released from jail on Saturday. His arrest was linked to a 31-year-old case connected to the riots during the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi protests in 1992.
Poojari, known for his associations with various fringe groups, faced accusations of involvement in the 1992 Hubballi riots following the Babri Masjid demolition. He was alleged to have set fire to multiple shops in the area.

Over the past three decades, the Hubballi police have filed 16 cases against Poojari, citing charges related to inciting riots, causing harm, and his involvement in subsequent rioting incidents in 1999, 2001, and 2014.
In addition to these charges, Poojari is also implicated in cases related to gambling and illegal liquor activities. He reportedly avoided court appearances and, according to local media reports, has been working as an autorickshaw driver in recent years.
