The Tunga river is overflowing beyond danger levels in Sringeri taluk within Chikkamagaluru's Malnad region submerging Gandhi Maidan Parallel Road completely underwater prompting advisories against locals tourists visiting riverbanks.
Elsewhere roads near Kuduregundi in Koppa taluk were submerged cutting off access between Kuduregundi Kanuru Kattimane villages while Basarikatte road resembled flowing rivers.
Agricultural Impact Due to Continuous Rain
In Bidar district of North Karnataka continuous rain has damaged crops over 210 hectares while Kalaburagi farmers protested on Sunday demanding compensation for losses incurred due to destroyed pigeon pea black gram green gram crops.
The meteorological department forecasts continued heavy rains across Karnataka for another three days amidst these challenges faced by various regions within the state.
