Karnataka Power Cut on July 12: BESCOM Announces No Electricity For 6 Hours In These Areas

Karnataka Power Cut Alert: Residents in several parts of Chitradurga district will face scheduled power outages till July 12, 2025, due to ongoing infrastructure work, including the relocation of electric poles. The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) issued a public notice outlining the affected areas and the reasons behind the disruption.

As per the BESCOM announcement, Nellikatte, Mattighatta, and Thodaranahalli will experience temporary power cuts due to emergency maintenance work at the Devarapura power station.

Why the Power Cut?

The Mattighatta-Lingadahalli route is undergoing cement concrete road construction, which requires shifting existing electricity poles. To carry out this work safely, BESCOM has scheduled power interruptions across several villages in Chitradurga.

According to BESCOM Assistant Executive Engineer Virupakshappa, the relocation of electric poles is essential for safety and road improvement, making power disruption unavoidable during the process.
