These constituencies are set to vote on April 26, with the election results scheduled to be declared on June 4. The last day for filing nominations in these constituencies is April 4.

The second phase of voting, scheduled for May 7, will cover the Kalyana Karnataka region. This region includes districts like Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, and Koppal. The Kalyana Karnataka region is known for its unique cultural heritage and historical significance.

WHAT HAPPENED IN 2019?

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved a resounding victory over the ruling Congress-JDS alliance in Karnataka. The BJP secured 25 out of the total 28 Lok Sabha seats, causing uncertainty in the one-year-old Kumaraswamy government regarding its stability. The BJP also made significant gains in the South Karnataka belt, commonly known as the old Mysuru region.

In Bengaluru, three of the four seats were won by the BJP, with the Congress winning one. DK Suresh of the Congress emerged victorious in Bangalore Rural, while DV Sadananda Gowda, PC Mohan, and Tejasvi Surya secured wins in Bangalore North, Bangalore Central, and Bangalore South, respectively.
