Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme: How To Apply, Eligibility And Other Details

The Karnataka Cabinet on Friday decided to implement the ruling Congress's five poll guarantees, without any discrimination of caste or religion, and has fixed a timeline to operationalise the schemes within this financial year, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said.

Among the five poll promises, one scheme that caught the attention of the women voters was 'Gruha Lakshmi' scheme. So, what is the scheme all about?

The scheme provides monthly cash assistance of Rs 2,000 to every woman head of household.

As per the Chief Minister's statement, every householder in the state without discrimination on the basis of any caste, religion, language and caste will get monthly Rs 2,000.

The objective of the scheme is to provide women with financial assistance, enabling them to contribute to their families' income and improve their overall financial circumstances. Its primary aim is to alleviate poverty by offering financial support to families facing significant economic challenges.

How To Apply?
A woman from a BPL or APL family should submit an application along with her bank account details and Aadhaar Card document and declare herself as the owner of the household.

They have to submit the application between June 15 and July 15. This scheme will be implemented from August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day.

Rs 2000 will be directly deposited into the house owner's account, according to Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.

The APL and BPL card holders and social security pensioners are the beneficiaries of this scheme.

"We are committed to providing financial assistance to the householder who is responsible for maintaining the family and shouldering their hardships," Siddaramaiah said on Twitter.
