In Siruguppa taluk of Ballari district, the Hagari River has overflowed after days of intense rainfall. The river has submerged a crucial bridge near Raravi village, cutting off road connectivity. This bridge connects nearby villages and towns. Locals are stranded with no alternate route available.

A viral video shows three people on a bike trying to cross the submerged bridge. The current was strong, and they nearly got swept away. Bystanders rushed to help and pulled them to safety. The authorities have asked people to avoid the bridge until water levels go down.

The Karnataka floods have exposed the poor state of rural infrastructure. Residents are now demanding a stronger and permanent bridge that can withstand seasonal flooding.

Hubballi: Biker Swept Away in Floodwaters

In Hubballi, heavy rain caused a tragic accident. On Wednesday night, a motorcyclist named Hussainsab Kalasad was riding through a waterlogged road near Nekar Nagar. He lost control and fell into an overflowing drain. The water current was strong, and he was washed away. His body has not yet been found. The search operation is ongoing.

Heavy Rain Causes Waterlogging in Hubballi and Dharwad

The Karnataka floods have also hit Dharwad. Many areas in both Hubballi and Dharwad are badly waterlogged. Roads are flooded. Traffic has been affected. Water has entered houses and shops in low-lying areas. Residents are facing major inconvenience.

Local officials have advised people to stay indoors and avoid traveling during peak rain hours. Emergency teams are on standby in case of further flooding.

IMD Forecast: More Rain Expected Across Karnataka

The southwest monsoon is now active in Karnataka. The IMD has warned of more heavy rain in districts like Ballari, Dharwad, Hubballi, and Belagavi.

Due to the ongoing Karnataka floods, residents are being urged to avoid rivers, open drains, and flooded streets. The government is monitoring the situation closely.
