Karnataka Dam Water Level Today (22nd June 2025) | Check Dam Water Level in Karnataka State
Karnataka Dam Water Level Today: Rainfall in the state has decreased due to changes in sea level and weather patterns. Heavy rain is predicted only for the coastal areas. The monsoon rains over the past two weeks have increased inflow into major reservoirs. Some reservoirs are nearly full within the first month of the rainy season.

Reservoir Levels and Rainfall Impact
The Harangi, Hemavathi, Kabini, and Krishna Raja Sagara dams are almost 90% full. If more rain occurs next month, water levels may reach overflow capacity. This is attributed to pre-monsoon and monsoon rains since late May. Kodagu's Talakaveri, the source of the Cauvery River, received 29 mm of rain yesterday, with an annual total of 3071 mm recorded by the meteorological centre.
Due to current rainfall, only a few feet remain for major dams to fill completely. With over three months of monsoon left, rivers and lakes continue to flow. Water release from reservoirs has increased, prompting flood warnings for downstream villages.
Dam Safety and Public Assurance
The Cauvery Irrigation Department clarified concerns about a "Kabini Dam crack." It stated that false rumours were spread by miscreants. "Water is not gushing out from the dam; it is seeping slowly. There is no crack. There is no need for concern among people or farmers," it assured in a statement.
Current Reservoir Data
Below is a table detailing today's water levels and flows at key dams:
| Dam | Total Capacity (TMC) | Current Storage (TMC) | Inflow (Cusecs) | Outflow (Cusecs) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| KRS | 49.452 | 42.291 | 13,359 | 1,664 |
| Harangi | 8.5 | 6.09 | 2,287 | 1,000 |
| Kabini | 19.52 | 15.76 | 11,932 | 12,000 |
| Hemavathi | 37.10 | 30.322 | 8,079 | 2,400 |
| Mettur Dam Details: | ||||
| Total Height: | 114 ft. | |||
| Current Storage: 84,222 Mcft | Inflow: 21,628 Cusecs | Outflow: 18,000 Cusecs. | ||||
The state's reservoirs are nearing capacity due to recent rains and ongoing monsoon conditions. With more rain expected in coming months, authorities remain vigilant about managing water levels and ensuring public safety.
