Karnataka Dam Water Level Today: Karnataka's 14 major reservoirs are seeing a substantial increase in water levels, essential for water supply, drinking needs, and electricity generation. As of July 19, continuous heavy rainfall has brought the reservoirs close to their maximum capacity.

The Malenadu region has experienced significant rainfall, leading to a rise in the Kalinadi River's water level. Four dams, including Tattihalli, Supa, and Kadra, are nearly full, with water now being released from the Kadra reservoir.

Almatti Dam:
Location: Bagalkot District, Krishna River
Current Storage: 18349.501 M.Cft (Maximum Capacity)
Inflow: (+)43,478Cusecs

Function: Primarily built for irrigation, the Almatti Dam also supports hydropower generation and flood control, contributing significantly to regional agriculture and water security.

Narayanpura Dam:

Location: Yadgir District, Krishna River

Basava Sagar Dam, formerly known as Narayanpura Dam, is constructed across the Krishna River in Yadgir District, Karnataka. The reservoir it creates, Basava Sagar, has a total storage capacity of 37.965 TMCFT (1.075 km³), with a live storage of 30.5 TMCFT (0.85 km³). The full reservoir level is 492.25 meters MSL, and the minimum drawdown level is 481.6 meters MSL.

Maximum Capacity: 49,452 M.Cft
Current Level: 113.4 Feet

Outflow: 2,448 Cusecs

Serving as a crucial lifeline for irrigation and drinking water, the KRS Dam continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring water sustainability in the region.
