Those apprehended have been identified as Ravi, Pradeep, Manjunath, Nagaraj, another individual named Manjunath, Gautham, and Pramod.

The victim, Channappa Husenappa Narinal, a daily-wage labourer from Tavaragera town, was killed in full public view on Saturday night at around 10 pm.

CCTV footage from a bakery captured the horrific assault, showing Channappa being attacked with swords and machetes. The attackers targeted his neck, head, back, and limbs, killing him on the spot.

The video reveals how the group began the assault inside the bakery, dragged him outside, and continued the attack until he died.

According to police, the entire incident lasted less than two minutes before the assailants fled the scene.

The incident took place near LJ Iyengar Bakery, close to Sindhanur Circle and less than a kilometre from the local police station.

A bystander recorded a video on a mobile phone, showing a large crowd at the scene and Channappa lying in a pool of blood. An elderly woman, believed to be a family member, is seen weeping and screaming beside his body.

Police have registered a case against all the accused under various charges including murder, criminal conspiracy, and abetment of crime with common intention.

Authorities believe the killing was premeditated and linked to an ongoing property feud.

The complaint was filed by Durugappa Narinal, the elder brother of the deceased, who informed police that their family had been engaged in a prolonged land dispute with another.

He further alleged that one of the main accused, Ravi Narinal, had recently issued open threats to kill someone from their family.
