Karnataka HC to seal Jayalalithaa's fate

If the Karnataka HC acquits Jayalalithaa or reduces her sentencing to two years, she can return as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu and will be able to lead the party the May 2016 elections.

However, if the HC upholds the special court order, it means that she will have to go back to jail after challenging the judgment in Supreme court.

A special court had convicted her in the case and had sent her to jail in September 2014 following which she obtained conditional bail and was released.
