In Pics: Narendra Modi's blast from the past, pics from 90s' US trip
Bangalore, Sept 26: Even before Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in US, there is already a lot of buzz surrounding his visit to the States. From elaborate arrangements at the Madison Square Garden, to his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, all eyes are set on Modi.
However this is not Modi's first trip to US.
In early 1990s Modi visited US as a 'pracharak.' Some of the pictures from his 90's trip is already doing the rounds of the internet. In those pictures, Modi is seen enjoying a boat ride and posing in front of the White House clad in a simple kurta pyjama sans the beard.
If you see some of the pictures, you can event notice BJP leader Ananth Kumar standing next to Narendra Modi.
It was however in 2005 that US denied a visa to Modi because of the 2002 Gujarat riots.
We bring some pictures from his trip in 1990 to the US.
