If Fled, Govt Will Bring Him Back: Kumaraswamy On Reports Of Prajwal Revanna Fleeing Country Over Sex Scandal

Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has distanced himself from the alleged sex scandal involving his party MP and nephew Prajwal Revanna saying that the government should bring him if he has fled the country.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, HD Kumaraswamy said, "Those who ate salt, should drink water, that's the law of the land. If he has fled the country, the government will bring him back. I have nothing to do with this."

He also claimed that both he and his father HD Deve Gowda have kept women in high esteem throughout their public lives. "The government has formed the SIT. Let the report come out," he added.

In a first reaction to the alleged sex scandal involving Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, the JDS on Sunday said that the Congress is doing everything to win in the elections while welcoming the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's order to form a Special investigation team to probe the incident.

At a press meet on Sunday, senior JDS leader GT Devegowda said that they had not seen any such videos. "They are doing everything to win the polls," he stated.

"The government is in your hand. The investigating agencies are under your control. With tools like the SIT, CID, and various other laws at your disposal to bring the guilty to justice, we support the government's choice to establish the SIT," he stated

Prajwal Revanna is the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda. He is the son of JDS MLA Holinarasipura MLA and former minister Revanna.

Just days before the polling in Hassan, there were some obscene videos of the MP doing rounds, according to report in the Kannada media.

Prajwal, via his election agent, filed a complaint alleging that manipulated videos were being disseminated to smear his reputation.

Poornachandra Tejaswi MG, the election agent for both the Janata Dal (Secular) and the BJP, filed a complaint alleging that Naveen Gowda and several others circulated purported videos aimed at defaming the JDS MP.
