HD Revanna And Prajwal Revanna Booked After Domestic Help Levels Sexual Harassment Allegations

A sexual harassment and stalking case has been filed against HD Revanna, former minister and son of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, along with his grandson Prajwal Revanna, who currently serves as the MP for Hassan. The complaint was lodged by their cook and registered at the Holenarasipur police station in the district.

Following a letter from Women's Commission Chairperson Dr. Nagalakshmi Chowdhary, the Karnataka government has formed a Special Investigation Team to probe into an alleged sex scandal involving Prajwal. This development has emerged amidst Prajwal's recent participation as the NDA candidate in the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency elections held on April 26. It's worth noting that the JD(S) had forged an alliance with the NDA in September of the preceding year.

Prajwal has also been facing criticism and booked for alleged sexual harassment with several women and recording their videos. According to the reports, the incident came to light after some obscene videos surfaced on the internet showcasing the Hassan MP, that tarnished his and his family's image.

Reacting to the incident, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramiah has ordered an inquiry by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to bring the truth to light.

"The government has decided to form a special investigation team in connection with Prajwal Revanna's obscene video case. Obscene video clips are circulating in Hassan district, where it appears that women have been sexually assaulted," Karnataka CM said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

IPS officer Vijay Kumar Singh will head the three-member SIT, while DG CID Suman D Pennekar and IPS officer Seema Latkar will assist him.

"This case has been registered at Holenarasipur police station under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 354 A (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354 D, 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman)," ANI reported.
