Groping Incident At Rameshwaram Cafe, Whitefield: Bengaluru Woman Shares Shocking Experience

A Reddit user from Bengaluru recently recounted a troubling experience at the well-known Rameshwaram Cafe in Whitefield.

In her post, she described being groped by a man while waiting at the cafe's security entrance. "I immediately shouted and created a scene. He kept denying it and then ran away," she wrote, sharing her feelings of anger and discomfort.

The woman also expressed her frustration about the ongoing harassment she has faced since moving to Bengaluru from Pune. Although she once admired the city for its prospects, she has found herself in numerous unsettling situations, including inappropriate advances from colleagues and harassment in public spaces.

The incident sparked a strong reaction from Reddit users, many of whom raised concerns about the safety of women in Bengaluru. One user stated, "This country is doomed beyond repair," while another expressed sympathy for the woman, encouraging her to file a police report and utilize any available video evidence. "Education and morality are severely lacking in the entire Indian subcontinent," the user added.

Others voiced their alarm over the rising dangers faced by women in the city. "Really disturbing. It pains me to see our city deteriorating, making it unsafe for women to go about their daily lives," one commenter noted.

"I'm sorry you had to endure this. Please continue to speak up and create a scene so that others can assist you," another recommended.

In a different incident on Friday, a woman narrowly avoided a potentially dangerous situation after unwittingly getting into a cab at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). The driver, who was later identified as an impersonator posing as an official Ola driver, allegedly tried to extort money from her, leading her to urgently seek help.

The police responded quickly, arriving at the Ola pickup area within 20 minutes and apprehending the driver. The woman recounted her ordeal, saying, "I don't know if he was just after money, had worse intentions, or was intoxicated. I was fortunate to escape unharmed around 11 PM, in a secluded area; being on the phone with a male friend allowed me to call for help quickly and act decisively."
