Goggle doodle celebrates 100th birthday of renowned Indian artist M.F Husain

Bengaluru, Sept 17: Google on Thursday, Sept 17 marked the centenary birthday of most renowned Indian artist Maqbool Fida Husain with a colourful doodle. The artist was popularly known as MF Hussain.

He was one of the respected artists who spent his life in discovering art and presenting them to art lovers.

His work had touched people not only in India but it had crossed boundaries to reach people at international level.

However, the revolution of an art era ended with his demise on June 9, 2011 at the age of 95.

He was born in Pandharpur, Maharashtra. His paintings depicted his cubist style and fashion for which he was referred as 'Piccasso of India'.s

Hussain was not only a painter but he was born as multi-talented person. He had tried his hand as a photographer, illustrator and film maker.

He was honoured with National film award at the Berlin Film Festival for his film "Through the Eyes of a Painter" (1967). Some of his films are Meenaxi, Gaja Gamini. Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit acted in the lead role of Gaja Gamini.

However, he had landed in controversy at the end of his career for his portrayals of nude painting.

Hussain was also honoured with Padma Bhushan, Padma Shree, Padma Vibhushan over the year for his brilliant work in the art world.

Now, Google celebrated his birthday with a doodle in which the tech giant depicted the artist holding a paintbrush next to a few artfully painted circles that suggest the Google logo.
