Foundation Stone Ceremony For Tumakuru’s Rs 150-Cr Cricket Stadium Today
The Karnataka government is all set to lay the foundation stone for an international cricket stadium in Tumakuru on December 2. Home Minister G. Parameshwara announced that the Rs 150-crore stadium will be built on 41 acres of land at P. Gollahalli and Sorekunte, provided by the Karnataka Industrial Area Board to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA).
As reported by Asianet News, the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) has allocated 41 acres of land in P. Gollahalli and Sorekunte to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) for the construction of the stadium. This state-of-the-art facility, with an estimated cost of ₹150 crore, is anticipated to be completed within two years.

BCCI President Roger Binny and other dignitaries will attend the ceremony, which coincides with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's visit to inaugurate multiple development projects worth Rs 938 crore.
The stadium, expected to be completed within two years, fulfills a long-standing demand for international cricket infrastructure in the region. Parameshwara also detailed plans for distributing benefits to 1.5 lakh beneficiaries, including farmers, women, and workers, through various government schemes.
As part of Tumakuru's development drive, over ₹938 crore is being allocated for various projects, including infrastructure upgrades, agricultural advancements, and welfare initiatives. The December 2 event will feature the inauguration of 66 new projects and the distribution of benefits to over 1.5 lakh eligible residents across the district.
The ceremony will also see the attendance of key dignitaries, including Energy Minister K.J. George, Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi, Heavy Industries Minister M.B. Patil, and Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, marking it a landmark occasion for Tumakuru.
