e-Khata Mela in Bengaluru on June 29: BBMP Offers Offline Help for Stuck Property Owners
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has introduced a significant initiative for property owners in Bengaluru concerning the e-Khata system. While e-Khata has been mandatory in Karnataka, not all property owners have received this facility over the past year. To address this issue, BBMP is organising a large-scale e-Khata Mela.

Property owners can apply for an e-Khata through the BBMP website or at Bangalore One centres online. Alternatively, they can obtain it at home through public servants. However, some individuals face challenges with these methods, prompting BBMP to organise the e-Khata mela as a solution.
E-Khata Fair Details
The e-Khata mela will take place on 29th June 2025, from 8 AM to 2 PM, in the Byatarayanapura Assembly constituency of Bengaluru. This event aims to assist property owners who have struggled to acquire an e-Khata due to various issues.
To apply for an e-Khata, certain documents are necessary: a registered property deed, SAS property tax receipt, BESCOM meter number, GPS coordinates and photo of the property, Aadhaar card copy, E.C., and Khata certificate.
Cost and Assistance
There have been allegations that some officials demand bribes for issuing e-Khatas. Despite these claims, many property owners still find it challenging to obtain one. The fair aims to provide convenience for those without Khatas. The application fee is Rs 125 with an additional service charge of Rs 45. If document pages exceed the standard limit, there is an extra charge of Rs 5 per page.
If you encounter any confusion or require assistance regarding the process, you can contact the BBMP helpline at 080-22660000 or visit your nearest BBMP office for further information.
