Chinese-Made Driverless Train For Namma Metro's Yellow Line Arrives In Bengaluru
The six driverless coaches designated for Bengaluru Namma Metro's Yellow Line have reached Hebbagodi depot near Electronic City in Bengaluru, according to money control reports.

Employees of Total Movements Pvt Ltd will now oversee the offloading of the coaches onto rail tracks. This meticulous process signifies another step forward in the integration of advanced technology into Bengaluru's metro network, promising a more efficient and futuristic public transportation system for the city.
The arrival of the train, initially scheduled for December 2023, was delayed due to challenges in implementing the Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) system. However, with the expertise of 21 Chinese technical experts from China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC), including loco-pilots, technicians, and engineers, the train successfully completed its journey.
Now, the train will be transported by road to Bengaluru's Hebbagodi depot, where it will undergo further testing and commissioning before being deployed on the Yellow Line. BMRCL officials are confident that the train will be operational before the initial deadline of April 2024.
Earlier, Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya voiced his disappointment regarding the sluggish progress of the metro project between RV Road and Bommasandra (Yellow Line).
During his meeting with top officials of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL), Surya urged the officials to disclose the project roadmap to the public.
"In light of the delays in the Yellow Line, I have conveyed the public's frustration regarding the lack of clarity on the line's early operationalization. Every organization aims to meet its objectives within a defined timeframe. However, BMRCL has not been able to fulfill its commitments, leading to widespread dissatisfaction among the public," Surya stated in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
