Actress and politician Ramya (Divya Spandana) was recently spotted on the Hebbal flyover in Bengaluru, where she met Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. The two greeted each other warmly-hugging, shaking hands, and even sharing a blessing moment as Shivakumar placed his hand on Ramya's head.

This unexpected encounter was caught on camera and quickly went viral on social media platforms.

Hebbal Flyover Inauguration

The new loop ramp at Hebbal flyover was inaugurated earlier in the day by Bengaluru Development Minister D.K. Shivakumar. Known for his personal touch, Shivakumar arrived at the site riding his iconic Yezdi RoadKing motorcycle to inspect the project.

It was during this inspection that Ramya crossed paths with him, sparking curiosity among political watchers.

Ramya, who made her political debut in 2013, won the Mandya Lok Sabha by-election the same year, while D.K. Suresh, Shivakumar's brother, won from Bangalore Rural. However, Ramya did not contest in later elections, partly due to Sumalatha Ambareesh's entry into Mandya politics in 2019.

Despite being less active in electoral politics, Ramya has remained vocal about women's rights, freedom, and social justice.

Interestingly, Ramya and Shivakumar have had differences in the past. Around three years ago, she openly supported Minister M.B. Patil, which caused friction within Shivakumar's camp. Since then, Ramya has maintained a lower profile, though she did reappear during Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra in Raichur.

This recent meeting, however, has raised questions about a possible reunion within the Congress party fold.

Recently, Ramya filed a legal complaint against obscene comments and threats made by fans of Kannada actor Darshan. The Bengaluru Cyber Crime Police arrested several individuals in connection with the case, reflecting her strong stance against online harassment.

Her actions highlight her consistent advocacy for women's dignity and safety in society.
