Did Darshan Show Middle Finger To Media? Official Fans Page Say D Boss' Gesture Is Vighna Hara Mudra
A video of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is currently in jail in connection with the murder case of fan Renuka Swamy, has gone viral after he was seen showing his middle finger to the cameras while leaving his Bellary prison cell. The incident, which occurred on Thursday as Darshan was taken out of his cell to meet his family, has shocked many and ignited a heated debate on social media.
In the video, Darshan can be seen extending his middle finger while folding the other fingers, an act that is considered offensive. The gesture has fueled speculation that Darshan's frustration with the media and the ongoing legal proceedings may have contributed to his outburst.

The media frenzy surrounding the incident has prompted Darshan's fan association, D Company, to issue a clarification. The official page of D Company posted on social media, stating: "The media is sensationalizing issues about our Box Office Sultan, Challenging Star Darshan Thoogudeepa, and spreading misleading news to create controversy. They have misrepresented D Boss's gesture while he was walking by, showing it inappropriately. We condemn this action and the way it is being portrayed."
The post further added, "Some media outlets claim to be the bearers of truth and builders of a better society, while they mislead the public with false accusations and distorted facts about others. They create high-profile news by twisting the truth to their advantage."
On Thursday, Darshan was visited by his wife Vijayalakshmi, brother Dinakar Thoogudeepa, relative Sushant Naidu, and lawyer Sunil at the central prison. Darshan's judicial custody period ended that day, and he appeared before the judge via video conference from the prison. After the hearing, he was allowed a 30-minute meeting with his family and an additional time slot with his legal team to discuss the charge sheet and upcoming legal battles.
During the visit, Darshan received prasadam from the Kamakya temple, dry fruits, clothes, and a bag from his wife. At 4 PM, lawyer Sunil and his team arrived at the prison. The incident involving Darshan's middle finger gesture, which occurred in the presence of five prison staff members for security, has become a focal point of discussion.
Darshan's lawyer Sunil, speaking to reporters outside the prison, addressed the situation, saying, "We have discussed matters related to the case with Darshan. There were some doubts about the charge sheet. We will consult senior lawyers regarding the bail application. We have not yet discussed changing the prison facility."
